Featured stress range for training

Training is a stress your body has to recover from, on top of everything else in your week. These are the sports nutrition products from our 2026 stress features: magnesium, adaptogens, L-theanine, electrolytes and protein.

Featured stress range for training Information

What is in this range?

Every product here comes from our featured stress range and is one of its sports nutrition lines. It covers magnesium powders, ashwagandha and adrenal formulas, L-theanine, electrolyte salts and sachets, whey and other protein powders, creatine, glutamine and NMN.

Compiled by the Mr Vitamins content team on 13 October 2026. Not yet practitioner-reviewed; a practitioner review is due by 9 November 2026. See how we review health content.

Where does stress support start for someone who trains?

Our practitioners usually start with nutritional status, because the nervous system cannot regulate without the raw materials. Magnesium is a cofactor in GABA production, and B6, folate and B12 are cofactors for serotonin, dopamine and GABA, as our stress and anxiety guide sets out with its sources. The order is the same for someone who trains.

Adaptogen or calming support?

Adaptogens such as ashwagandha act on the HPA axis and work over weeks, with most trials measuring results at eight to twelve weeks; the adaptogen trials are summarised in our stress guide. Lemon balm, passionflower and kava act more directly on GABA pathways and suit acute tension, as our stress guide explains; L-theanine is the calming option stocked in this range. Compare products in our ashwagandha range.

Where a practitioner changes the answer

If you feel flat, wired and under-recovered at once, the answer may be less training rather than another product. Our practitioners will also check medication first: ashwagandha and some calming herbs are not suitable for everyone. What this range will not do

Nutritional support is not a treatment for anxiety or depression, and it does not replace rest or psychological care. Speak with your GP if stress is affecting your work, relationships or sleep, or if it has lasted for months. Beyond Blue's guide to anxiety is a good independent starting point, and if you need support now, call Lifeline on 13 11 14.
