Caramel Shadow (light auburn)

Desert Shadow Caramel Shadow is a 100g plant powder hair colour in a warm light auburn, shade 6.54, blending henna, indigo, cassia and aloe. It is the only one of the three shades with indigo, which is why it is activated with diluted apple cider vinegar rather than plain water, and with plant powders only it deposits colour rather than lifting it. Mix it at home for warmth and spice on grey and blonde hair, and a hint of cinnamon on light and medium brown.

Suitable For / Not Suitable For

Suitable for: Home colouring on grey, light blonde, dark blonde, light brown or medium brown hair, where a warm auburn is wanted.

Not suitable for: Anyone with an allergy to the listed ingredients; anyone whose 48 hour skin sensitivity test brings up a reaction; the eyelashes and eyebrows, which it must never be used on; and anyone who plans to bleach or lighten their hair blonde later, which is not recommended after using it.

Suggested Use

• Do the skin sensitivity test 48 hours before you colour.
• Step 1: 180ml of diluted apple cider vinegar, at 30 per cent vinegar to 70 per cent water or herbal tea.
• Step 2: 70ml of warm water, plus another 20 to 50ml of warm water if you need it.
• Non grey coverage: leave on for one hour.
• Grey coverage: leave on for two to three hours.
• Short hair and root touch-ups take half a pack, medium hair one pack, long hair one to one and a half packs, and super long hair two to three packs. Thick hair takes an extra quarter pack on short hair, or half to three quarters of a pack on long hair.
• Do a strand test first to settle the processing time and the final colour.

Contains henna, indigo, cassia and aloe as plant powders. Plant dyes, henna and indigo in particular, can cause allergic contact dermatitis, which is why the 48 hour skin sensitivity test comes before every application.

Warnings

Carry out the skin sensitivity test 48 hours before every application, including repeat applications. Mix a 1/4 teaspoon of powder from your hair colour pack with water and leave it to stand for 5 to 10 minutes, then apply it to the inside of your wrist, or behind your ear or on the back of your neck. Cover the spot for 30 minutes, rinse it off, then wait 48 hours. If no reaction occurs, you are clear to use your hair colour.

Two step colours are tested separately, 72 hours apart, in different spots.

If a reaction occurs: 'Wash the area immediately under cool running water. If symptoms persist, worsen or if you are worried please consult a health care professional immediately.'

Not for use on eyelashes or eyebrows.

This colour will not lighten the hair as it contains no bleach or peroxide.

Not recommended for people who wish to bleach or lighten their hair blonde in the future.

Colour resistant hair needs the longer processing time, and repeated use will see the colour become richer and in some cases darker.

Storage

Store the sealed pack in a cool, dry place away from heat and direct light.
