Is Bone Broth Concentrate right for you?
Common questions
What's the difference between bone broth concentrate and liquid stock?
Both start the same way, with bones and connective tissue simmered in water for a long time. The concentrate is then reduced much further, until what's left is a thick paste or a powder rather than a liquid. That's why it comes in a small jar and a teaspoon makes a mug. Liquid stock is the same thing before it's reduced, so you pour it by the cup.
Is bone broth concentrate regulated as a medicine in Australia?
No. We found no entry for bone broth on Australia's permitted ingredients list (Schedule 1), so it isn't a permitted ingredient for a listed medicine in its own right. It's sold as a food instead, under the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code. Gelatin and collagen have their own entries as separate ingredients, but those entries aren't for bone broth and don't carry over to it.
