True Electrolyte is a hypotonic hydration powder from Australian sports nutrition brand True Protein, supplied in a 240 g resealable bag that provides 40 serves. Each 6 g serve is mixed into 400 ml of cold water and can be taken before, during or after training, or through a long working day. It comes as the 240 g bag only, across the Blueberry, Strawberry and Tropical flavours currently stocked, plus two flavours no longer produced. Sweating heavily takes sodium, potassium and magnesium out along with the fluid, and a hypotonic drink is the one to reach for when the aim is replacing those rather than taking on fuel.

The ingredient list varies slightly with flavour. Every current flavour is built on the following base:
- Cluster dextrin.
- Dextrose.
- Acidity regulator (citric acid).
- Sodium citrate.
- Potassium citrate.
- Himalayan pink rock salt.
- Magnesium citrate.
- Natural flavours.
- Natural sweeteners (organic steviol glycosides, thaumatin).
- Tropical and Strawberry also contain red beet extract and gardenia extract; Blueberry also contains spirulina extract and red beet extract.
The following quantities are common to every current flavour, per 6 g serve: magnesium 60 mg (19% RDI), potassium 219 mg, carbohydrate 3.1 g, fat 0.0 g, protein less than 0.1 g. Energy, sodium and sugars differ slightly between flavours, so those figures are not declared here.
Suggested Use
Add 6 g (2 level teaspoons) to 400 ml of cold water and mix well. Confirm serving and directions from product label.
