Is this the right protein powder for you?
Common questions
Is egg white protein the same as whey protein isolate?
No. Whey is a dairy protein from milk, and egg white protein is made from dried egg white, so it has no dairy or lactose at all. Both are considered high-quality, fast-digesting proteins, but they come from completely different sources. If dairy is the problem, egg white protein is the swap, not a dairy-free whey. Your muscles rebuild with protein after training, so getting enough helps your effort pay off.
Is there research on egg white protein as a supplement?
Very little. The one trial that tested it as a supplement, in older women, found no real difference from a placebo, and the researchers said the study was too small to pick up a difference either way. Most of what we know about egg protein and muscle comes from research on whole egg, not egg white powder on its own. In fact, it was whole egg protein that showed muscle building in one sitting maxes out at around 20 g of protein.
