Description
Switch Nutrition Hydrate Sugar Free, sold by the manufacturer as Hydrate Switch, is a Lemon Lime electrolyte drink in a box of 20 single-serve sachets. Each 6 g sachet carries five electrolytes led by 302 mg of sodium and 156 mg of potassium, 1000 mg of taurine, 100 mg of CoffeeBerry standardised to 40 percent chlorogenic acid, and a vitamin blend of C, B3, B6, B9 and B12. There is no added sugar and no added caffeine, so it works first thing in the morning, around training, or through the afternoon flat spot. Sachets are the format for a gym bag, a work desk or a car door, and the electrolytes are there to replace what heavy sweating takes out with the fluid, which is where a plain water bottle falls short.
Product Strengths
- Replaces the electrolytes that heavy sweating carries off with the fluid.
- Mixed first thing in the morning, around training, or through the afternoon flat spot.
- Box of 20 single-serve 6 g sachets, easy to carry to work, training or travel.
- Five electrolytes per serve: sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium and chloride.
- 1000 mg of taurine and 100 mg of CoffeeBerry coffee fruit extract per sachet, with no added caffeine.
- No added sugar, under 1 g of sugars per serve, and no artificial colours or synthetic dyes.

Electrolytes
Replace what you sweat out.
When you sweat hard or lose fluid to a stomach bug, you lose salts as well as water. Electrolytes help you put them back, and an oral rehydration sachet is made to a set formula for exactly that.

Is Electrolytes right for you?
How the forms compare
Common questions
Do I need electrolytes, or is water enough?
For ordinary days, water is enough. Electrolytes matter when you're actually losing salts, through heavy sweating, vomiting or diarrhoea. Plain water after a big sweat replaces the fluid but not the sodium, which is why rehydration products exist. If you're not losing salts, you're mostly just drinking flavoured water.
What's the difference between a rehydration sachet and a sports powder?
The sachet is made to a formula. Australian law requires oral rehydration products to match the British Pharmacopoeia and the WHO and UNICEF criteria for sodium, potassium, glucose and concentration once mixed. A sports powder has no such standard and is usually made with taste in mind. When you're unwell, reach for the sachet.
Will electrolytes stop my cramps?
The evidence is genuinely mixed, and we'd rather tell you so. Thirteen randomised trials gave an inconsistent picture, and a Cochrane review of 11 trials found magnesium unlikely to prevent unexplained or night-time cramps in older adults. One trial did find a benefit. If cramps keep happening, it's worth a chat with us rather than another scoop.
