Description
Springfields Carrot Seed is a single, unblended essential oil from the seed of Daucus carota, the wild carrot. The scent is earthy and strong, closer to warm soil and dry root than to anything sweet, so it sits underneath a blend rather than on top of it. It is used topically in skin care creams and bases, where it is a favourite for nurturing and rejuvenating mature skin.

Suggested Use
- Skin care bases: stir a small number of drops through an unscented cream, lotion or carrier oil and use the finished blend as you would the base on its own.
- Massage and body blends: dilute in a carrier oil before applying to skin. The usual guidance for adults is 1 to 3 per cent, which is a few drops in a tablespoon of carrier.
- Diffuser or vaporiser: add a few drops to the water reservoir and run the appliance according to its own instructions. The aroma is strong, so start with fewer drops than usual.
- Confirm directions for use from the product label.
Warnings
- For external and aromatic use. Do not take this oil by mouth.
- Always dilute in a carrier oil before skin contact, and patch test a small area first.
- Stop using the oil if redness, itching or irritation develops.
- Keep away from the eyes, the inner ears and other mucous membranes, and do not apply to broken skin.
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or you are under medical care, speak with a qualified health professional before using essential oils.
- Essential oils are flammable. Keep the bottle away from naked flame, heaters and other ignition sources.
- Keep out of reach of children.
