Description
Springfields Jasmine 2.5% In Jojoba is not a neat essential oil. It is pure jasmine essential oil already blended down to 2.5 per cent in jojoba, supplied in an 10 mL bottle and ready to be applied straight to the skin with no further dilution. Jasmine is one of the most expensive oils in aromatherapy because an enormous quantity of small white blossoms, picked by hand, is needed to produce a small amount of oil, so a pre-diluted bottle is the usual way to work with it. The aroma is warm, rich and heady floral, and the jojoba it sits in is a light, readily absorbed wax ester that leaves skin softly scented rather than greasy. It is used as a wearable skin scent, a little smoothed over the pulse points or into the arms and shoulders after a bath, and it can also be added by the drop to an unscented body oil or cream.
Product Strengths
- Jasmine is traditionally used in aromatherapy as a rich, comforting floral scent.
- Pure jasmine essential oil supplied at 2.5 per cent in jojoba oil, which is the strength the maker intends for direct skin use.
- Ready to use as supplied. There is no need to dilute it further in a carrier oil.
- Jojoba is a light wax ester that is readily absorbed and sits comfortably on most skin, so it carries the jasmine without a heavy oily finish.
- Every batch is tested for authenticity, including GC and MS analysis and checks for pesticide and herbicide residues.
- Blended and bottled in Australia.
Suitable For / Not Suitable For
Suitable for: General household use.
Not suitable for: Pregnant or breastfeeding women, unless advised by a health professional.
Botanical Source
What is in the bottle: jasmine essential oil at 2.5 per cent in jojoba oil.
Plant part: the flowers, hand picked.
Botanical name: the jasmine species is not stated for this blend.
Extraction: No extraction method for its jasmine. The store's previous copy described the oil as steam distilled, and that is not confirmed elsewhere, so no extraction method is claimed here.
Country of origin: not declared. Springfields sources essential oils from around the world, including Australia, and blends and bottles them in Australia.
How to Use
- Apply a small amount directly to the skin as supplied. This bottle is already at 2.5 per cent, so no carrier oil needs to be added.
- Pulse points, wrists, the base of the throat and the back of the neck are the usual places, and skin that is still slightly damp after a bath or shower holds the scent well.
- It can also be stirred through a small amount of unscented base cream or lotion if you would rather wear it that way.
- This blend is for direct application to the skin rather than for a diffuser or burner.
- Confirm directions for use from the product label.
Safety
- This product is already diluted to 2.5 per cent in jojoba. Do not treat it as a neat essential oil and do not dilute it again.
- Not for internal use. Do not take it by mouth unless you are doing so under the supervision of a suitably qualified practitioner.
- Patch test a small area of skin first and stop using it if redness, itching or irritation develops. Rich florals are among the more common causes of fragrance sensitivity.
- Keep away from the eyes, the inner ears and other mucous membranes, and do not apply to broken or damaged skin.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Keep away from naked flame and direct heat.
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or you are under medical care, speak with a qualified health professional before using aromatherapy products.
Storage
Store below 30 degrees Celsius in the original tightly capped bottle, standing upright, away from direct sunlight, heat and naked flame. Keep out of reach of children.
