Description
Power Super Foods Wakame Flakes are Atlantic wakame (Alaria esculenta), a brown kelp closely related to the Pacific wakame used across Asian kitchens. It is wild harvested from Atlantic waters by certified organic small scale harvesters, air dried at low temperature and broken into light flakes, which is why it goes straight from the pack into a dish with no soaking. Sprinkle it over miso soup, noodles, rice bowls and stir fries, or use it in place of some of the salt in soups, stocks, casseroles and salads.
Product Strengths
- Sprinkles straight from the pack over miso soup, noodles, rice bowls and stir fries.
- Stands in for some of the salt in soups, stocks, casseroles and salads.
- A source of iodine.
- Wild harvested by certified organic, small scale harvesters.
- Air dried at low temperature.
- Whole wakame flakes, with nothing added.
- Suitable for plant based diets.
Suitable For / Not Suitable For
Suitable for: Everyday snacking and meals.
Not suitable for: Anyone with an allergy to the listed ingredients.
Suggested Use
Sprinkle the flakes into soups, stocks, stews, miso, stir fries and savoury dishes, or scatter them over rice bowls, noodles and salads at the table. No soaking is needed. Start with a small pinch and add to taste, since the flakes carry their own salinity.
Ingredients
- Certified organic wakame flakes (Alaria esculenta).
Allergens
Read the allergen statement on the pack. Always review label for full list of ingredients.
Warnings
Seaweed naturally contains iodine, and intake builds up quickly. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or you have a thyroid condition or take thyroid medication, seek advice from a health professional before adding seaweed to your diet. Keep serves small and vary them across the week.
Nutrition Information
Read the nutrition panel on the pack.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, and keep the pack sealed.
