Description
Planet Organic Hops Loose Leaf Tea is certified organic hops, the papery pale gold flower of the hop vine, dried and boxed loose. It smells resinous and green in the box, and it brews to a light gold infusion carrying the frank herbal bitterness the same flower gives beer, an unusual cup and a deliberately acquired one. One teaspoon steeped for five to eight minutes makes a mug, up to two cups a day, and it drinks in the evening with no caffeine to work around.
Product Strengths
- Brews as an earthy, aromatic, distinctly bitter infusion, pale gold in the cup.
- Drinks in the evening, with no caffeine to work around.
- One teaspoon per 250 mL mug, steeped five to eight minutes, up to two cups a day.
- A little grated ginger takes the edge off the bitterness if the plain cup is too stark.
- The same flower that bitters beer, so the flavour is familiar even where the format is not.
- Certified organic hops and nothing else.
- Certified organic, accredited by Australian Certified Organic.
- Packed in Australia from imported ingredients.
Suitable For / Not Suitable For
Suitable for: Vegan and vegetarian diets, and anyone avoiding caffeine. The only ingredient is a dried flower.
Not suitable for: Anyone who has been advised by a health professional to avoid hops.
Suggested Use
Boil the kettle and prepare an infuser or teapot. Use one teaspoon of hops per 250 mL of hot water. Pour freshly boiled water over the hops and brew for five to eight minutes. For a stronger cup, add an extra teaspoon rather than extending the steep. A small amount of grated ginger softens the bitterness. Remove the infuser, or pour from the teapot. Up to two cups a day.
Ingredients
- Certified organic hops.
Allergens
The ingredient list runs to one line: certified organic hops. Read the allergen statement on the pack before use. Always review label for full list of ingredients.
Nutrition Information
Brewed with water and nothing else. Read the nutrition information panel from the pack.
