Description
Planet Organic Dandelion Leaf is a single herb infusion of certified organic dandelion leaf, packed as 25 compostable tea bags with no strings, tags or envelopes. The leaf brews mild and faintly sweet, green and grassy, with the light bitter edge you get from a leaf rather than a flower, and it does not need milk or sugar. Place one bag in a cup or teapot, pour fresh boiling water over it and infuse for 4 to 5 minutes; dandelion leaf carries no caffeine, so it drinks at any hour of the day.
Product Strengths
- Brews as a single bag in a cup or teapot, in 4 to 5 minutes.
- Drinks at any hour, including late in the evening, because dandelion leaf carries no caffeine.
- A mild, earthy and lightly sweet cup, taken black.
- Also brews as an iced tea, with two bags to 250 mL and then chilled.
- One ingredient: certified organic dandelion leaf, and nothing added.
- The leaf, not the roasted root, so the cup is green and grassy rather than dark and coffee-like.
- Certified to the Australian Certified Organic standard.
- Compostable cellulose tea bags with no strings, tags, staples or envelopes.
- Packed in Australia from imported ingredients.
- 25 tea bags to the box.
Suitable For / Not Suitable For
Suitable for: Everyday drinking at any hour; vegetarian and vegan diets, since the only ingredient is plant material; anyone who wants a hot drink with no caffeine in it.
Not suitable for: Anyone avoiding dandelion or other plants in the daisy family.
Suggested Use
Place a tea bag in a cup or teapot and use one tea bag per person, which is about one bag to 250 mL of water. Add fresh boiling water and allow to infuse for 4 to 5 minutes. For a stronger cup, add a second bag rather than steeping for longer. For iced tea, use two bags to 250 mL and chill it.
Ingredients
- Certified organic dandelion leaf.

Dandelion
What is dandelion?
Dandelion is a common lawn plant whose leaf and root are both used in traditional Western herbal medicine. Roasted root makes dandelion coffee, and the leaf goes into teas and liquid extracts.

Is Dandelion right for you?
Common questions
What's the difference between dandelion leaf and dandelion root?
They're separate products with separate traditions, and they're listed separately on Australia's permitted ingredients list (Schedule 1). The root is roasted to make dandelion coffee and is sold as a digestive bitter. The leaf more often goes into teas and liquid extracts. If a product just says dandelion, check which part it uses.
Is dandelion coffee the same as a dandelion supplement?
Not under the rules. Dandelion coffee is roasted root sold as a food, under the Food Standards Code. A dandelion tablet, capsule or liquid extract uses a listed medicine ingredient from Australia's permitted ingredients list. It's the same plant under two different sets of rules, with different limits on what each can say.
