Description
Pacific Harvest Atlantic Dulse Leaves are whole dried fronds of Palmaria palmata, the red seaweed loved for its deep crimson colour and smoky, salty, faintly bacony flavour. Keeping the leaf whole gives you options: chop it into soups, stews and stir fries, crisp it in a dry pan for eggs and potatoes, or wrap a whole leaf around food parcels to flavour them from the outside in.
Product Strengths
- Just one ingredient: 100 per cent Atlantic dulse.
- Whole leaves you can chop, crisp or use as a wrap.
- A smoky, salty, faintly bacony flavour and deep crimson colour.
- Naturally dried and tested for contaminants.
- A handy 15 g pack.
Suitable For / Not Suitable For
Suitable for: Cooks who want a whole leaf seaweed with a smoky, savoury flavour for everyday cooking.
Not suitable for: Anyone with an allergy to the listed ingredients; anyone allergic to crustacea, fish or molluscs, as the product may contain traces of all three; and anyone with a thyroid condition or taking thyroid medication, without advice from their health professional.
Ingredients
Dulse (Palmaria palmata) seaweed 100 per cent.
The fine white bloom that can appear on a naturally dried seaweed is glutamine, an amino acid that rises to the surface as the leaf dries. It is where the savoury flavour comes from and it is not mould.
Always review label for full list of ingredients.
Suggested Use
Chop the leaves into soups, stews and stir fries, crisp them in a dry pan for eggs and potatoes, or wrap food parcels in a whole leaf to flavour them as they cook. They are also used as a garnish on savoury baking and poke bowls, and blended into smoothies. Follow the serving suggestion printed on the pack.
Allergens
MAY CONTAIN TRACES OF: Crustacea, Fish, Molluscs. The only ingredient is seaweed.
That is a cross contact statement about the harvest and the packing line, not a statement that any of the three is an ingredient, and nothing should be read into what it leaves out. Always review label for full list of ingredients.
Warnings
- Contains naturally occurring iodine. Excessive consumption may exceed recommended daily dietary intakes which could have adverse effects.
- If you have a thyroid condition or take medication for your thyroid, talk to your health professional before adding seaweed to your diet.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Seal the pack securely once opened. Keep out of reach of children.
Disclaimer
Always read the label and follow the directions for use. This information is a guide only, and the pack is the authority on ingredients, nutrition and allergens.
