Description
Owen Phosphorus 6C is a homoeopathic preparation of phosphorus, the element itself, made as small sucrose pillules, around 120 to a capped vial. 6C is a centesimal potency: the source material is diluted one part in a hundred and succussed, or shaken hard, and that step is repeated six times. A handy single remedy for your home remedy kit, it is chosen and repeated on homoeopathic principles, with a home prescribing reference or a homoeopath's guidance.
Product Strengths
- A single homoeopathic remedy for your home remedy kit, chosen and repeated on homoeopathic principles.
- Pillules dissolve under the tongue, so there is nothing to swallow and no water is needed.
- The cap doubles as a dispenser, so the pillules go from vial to mouth without being handled.
- Taken on its own, or spaced at least ten minutes from any other remedy.
- Prepared from phosphorus, the element itself rather than a plant or a mineral salt.
- Potency 6C on the centesimal scale.
- Around 120 pillules per vial on a sucrose base.
Suitable For / Not Suitable For
Suitable for: Home prescribers keeping single remedies on hand; anyone building or restocking a home remedy kit; anyone who would rather let a pillule dissolve in the mouth than swallow a tablet.
Not suitable for: Anyone with a known allergy or intolerance to any ingredient; anyone with a milk allergy, until they have read the pillule base on the vial.
The pillules are made on a sucrose base, which is worth knowing if you are limiting sugar. Keep the vial out of reach of children.
Ingredients
- Active: Phosphorus 6C.
- Source material: the element phosphorus.
- Pillule base: sucrose.
- Around 120 pillules per vial.
- Read the active ingredient quantity from the vial.
Suggested Use
Let the pillules dissolve under the tongue rather than swallowing them; they are taken up in the mouth, so hold them there for a few minutes. Take a dose between meals, ideally about half an hour before food, and at least ten minutes either side of anything to eat or drink. To dispense, invert the cap, turn the pillules into it and tip them straight into the mouth rather than handling them; a pillule that is dropped is discarded rather than returned to the vial. Leave at least ten minutes between one remedy and another. Avoid peppermint toothpaste, strong peppermint tea and ordinary coffee around a dose, and do not smoke, brush your teeth, gargle or drink alcohol within half an hour of a dose. Read the number of pillules per dose, and how often to repeat it, from the vial. Always read the label and follow the directions for use.
Storage
Store the vial in a cool, dry place, out of direct sunlight and away from heat, with the cap on between doses. Keep it away from strongly scented substances, camphor in particular, and away from electrical appliances such as the fridge, television, microwave and clock radio. Read the storage temperature from the vial.
Disclaimer
Always read the label and follow the directions for use. Homoeopathic principles should be applied when using this remedy. If symptoms persist, talk to your health professional. Keep out of reach of children.
Allergens
Check the vial for the pillule base and allergen information before use, especially if you have a milk allergy. Always review label for full list of ingredients.

Phosphorus
Phosphorus, in its homoeopathic form.
In Australia, phosphorus itself is permitted only as a highly diluted homoeopathic ingredient. The phosphorus your body needs comes from everyday food, or from phosphate salts in other supplements.

Is Phosphorus right for you?
Common questions
Is phosphorus permitted in Australian supplements?
Only in one narrow way. Australia's permitted ingredients list (Schedule 1) includes elemental phosphorus, item 3869, only as an active homoeopathic ingredient, capped at 1 mg/kg, 1 mg/L or 0.0001% of the medicine. That's a dilution limit, not a nutritional dose. There's no permitted health claim for phosphorus, so a product that contains it as a homoeopathic ingredient can't make a phosphorus-specific health claim.
Why isn't phosphorus sold as an ordinary mineral supplement?
Because Australia's permitted ingredients list doesn't allow elemental phosphorus at a nutritional dose under that name. Instead, you get phosphorus from your diet in two other ways: as a normal part of food, regulated under food law rather than medicine rules, or in a product under a phosphate salt name, such as disodium pyrophosphate, which has its own separate listing and label requirements.
