Description
Nature's Way Beauty Collagen Dark Choc Balls are small dark chocolate balls made with hydrolysed collagen blended through the chocolate rather than coated on it, so collagen makes up a third of each ball. The tub holds 30 balls, 112 g in total, and the serve is two balls. Eat them as an everyday dark chocolate treat that puts 2,500 mg of hydrolysed collagen peptides into a two ball serve.
Product Strengths
- A dark chocolate treat that carries hydrolysed collagen peptides in the chocolate itself.
- Two balls make the serve and provide 2,500 mg of hydrolysed collagen peptides.
- Collagen makes up 33.3% of each ball, with dark chocolate the rest.
- The dark chocolate is built on cocoa mass at 29.7% and cocoa butter at 7.3%.
- Comes as a 112 g tub of 30 dark choc balls.

Collagen
The protein behind your skin, joints and tendons.
You make less collagen as you age, which is why people start taking it, usually for their skin or for joints that ache after exercise. Stir it into a drink each day.

Is Collagen right for you?
How the forms compare
Common questions
Does collagen actually do anything?
The strongest evidence is for skin. A meta-analysis of 26 randomised trials in 1,721 people found hydrolysed collagen improved skin hydration and elasticity, measured with instruments. The same reviewers pointed out several weaknesses in those trials and called for larger studies, so think of it as promising rather than settled, and give it months.
Marine or bovine collagen. Which should I choose?
Marine collagen comes from fish skin and is almost entirely type I, the main type in skin, and published comparisons rate it as better absorbed. Bovine collagen gives you types I and III. If you have a fish allergy, marine is out, and if you avoid beef, bovine is out.
How long does collagen take to work?
Most published trials ran for eight to twelve weeks before measuring skin results, so that's a fair window to judge it over. Anything promising a visible change in days is describing hydration from the liquid, not new collagen. Take it every day rather than now and then, as the trials did.
Is vegan collagen real collagen?
No. Every genuine collagen supplement comes from animals: cow hide, fish skin, pork or chicken cartilage. Products sold as vegan collagen contain no collagen. They provide amino acids plus helpers such as vitamin C, which your body needs to build its own collagen. That's a different product, so judge it as one.
