Is Rhodiola right for you?
Common questions
Does it matter which part of the plant is used?
In Australia, yes. The rules only allow rhodiola in listed medicines as a root product, meaning dry root powder or an extract of it, made with water or with water and no more than 70% ethanol. It's also only allowed in medicines you swallow. So the root is what you should see named on the label.
Why doesn't this page say what rhodiola does?
Because we couldn't find a permitted health claim for rhodiola in the Australian rules, and we won't describe an effect we can't back up with a source. That's not a judgement on the herb, just where our research is up to. If you'd like to talk through whether it suits you, our naturopaths can help.
