Description
Nature's Sunshine Pure Slippery Elm Powder is the inner stem bark of Ulmus rubra, milled to a powder and supplied as a 200 g jar that measures out to about 100 doses of 2 g. Slippery elm bark is rich in mucilage, and mucilage needs liquid to do anything, which is why the bark is taken as a powder stirred into water rather than swallowed dry. Traditionally used in Western herbal medicine to support the healthy mucous linings of the digestive system and to relieve mild gastrointestinal tract inflammation.
