Description
It is simply an natural scented body spray that seems to be unpalatable for mossies. It can be sprayed as liberally as needed, including over the face.
Tails come in handy for cows during spring and summer and sometimes we wish we had one. Nobody likes chemicals and sometimes strong essential oils like Citronella or Tea Tree can irritate.
When we were trialing a scent recently in a body spray, we loved the smell and also noticed when we had barbecues or outdoors, we were not bitten so much. Have you ever noticed how some people never seem to get bitten while others are devoured? This scent helped us to become one of the lucky ones who don't seem to be troubled by bites.
Please note that this is not a general insect repellent. It is simply an natural scented body spray that seems to be unpalatable for mossies. It can be sprayed as liberally as needed, including over the face. It is also great for small children that are sleeping in an area where they may be bitten.
Benefits
- Aqua: When we were told that we have to call our purified water “Aqua” we thought they were kidding. But we can’t fight bureaucracy. So we aren’t trying to be fancy, but we do need to call our water “Aqua” sometimes.
- Sucrose Polystearate (Sugar Ester): This natural ester helps keep all of the ingredients evenly dispersed through the spray.
- Cetearyl Alcohol (Plant Based Emulsifier): Creams are made from a mix of purified water and oils so as to be more moisturising than oil alone. To hold water and oils together, they need an emulsifying wax. We use a plant based wax that allows the water and oils to stay together.
- Olea Europaea (Olive) Oil Unsaponifiables: Wonderfully healthy for the skin. So many benefits, it might be best to Google "Olive Oil Skin" instead.
- Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil: Full of fatty acids and anti-oxidants, this oil is one of the best for re-energising mature skin types.
- Coco-Caprylate (Coconut Based Skin Conditioner): This coconut oil derived ingredients gives the skin a smooth finish. It is an alternative to the silicones uses in many creams. Silicone coats the skin in an occlusive slippery layer, while Coco Caprylate is much more moisturising and cool feeling on the skin.
- Polysorbate 20 (Food Grade Emuslifier): With all these ingredients mixed in with the purified water, we need something to make sure they don’t settle to the bottom. That’s what an emulsifier does. As we use food based ingredients wherever we can, we use Polysorbate 20 for this. This is also used in ice cream, lollies (candy), sauces etc. So we think probably the best thing to use if we need something edible to do the job.
- Fragrant Oil (Phthalate Free): We used to use various Essential Oils in our Milky Shampoo, Conditioner and Milk Wash. EO’s are great if we could talk to each customer and check for allergies. Due to the occasional reaction to EO’s, we removed them. We want to sooth people scalps and even a very small number of reactions to EO’s was distressing for us. But people still want their hair to smell nice. So we worked with another company to develop phthalate free fragrant oil (phthalates are the things in fragrances that a lot of people don’t like) and since then the response has been great.
- Piroctone Olamine: Piroctone Olamine is an anti-yeast ingredient. Non-irritating, it also helps keep the cream free from bacteria and mould.
- Apium Graveolens (Celery) Seed Extract: Can help with the appearance of puffiness or redness of the skin.
- Cymbopogon Schoenanthus (Lemongrass) Oil: A great EO to help balance out oily skin.
- Humulus Lupulus (Hop) Extract: Cosmetic creams need to stay pure from bacteria. That is why ingredients like Parabens etc are used by a lot of companies. These work great at achieving their aim, but a lot of our “customers” are very young children. Sometimes accidents happen and so we aim to make our creams as food like as possible. We worked for over a year to develop a preservation system based on Hop Extract. All our creams have now been checked for preservative efficacy using the British Pharmacopeia test. We are very proud that we are probably one of the first companies to develop this natural and edible anti-bacterial system into our creams.
