Description
Mindful Foods Organic Lemon Myrtle Powder is the dried, milled leaf of the Australian lemon myrtle tree, certified organic, with nothing else in the jar. The leaf is grown and harvested in the coastal regions of New South Wales and southern Queensland, and the powder is made in Australia from 100 per cent Australian ingredients. It has a strong, fragrant citrus aroma and taste, so a pinch carries a long way. Use it in desserts and baked goods, in marinades, dukkahs and spice mixes, and in tea blends.
Product Strengths
- Gives cakes, biscuits, shortbread, custards and syrups a citrus note without adding liquid or acid.
- Goes into marinades, dukkahs and spice rubs.
- Blends into herbal teas.
- One ingredient only, which is the certified organic lemon myrtle leaf itself.
- Grown and harvested in coastal New South Wales and southern Queensland.
- Made in Australia from 100 per cent Australian ingredients.

Lemon Myrtle
Lemon myrtle, a zesty Australian native.
The ground leaf adds a bright lemon note to food and drinks, just like any dried herb. You'll see it on labels as Backhousia citriodora, and the oil is made for your skin.

Is Lemon Myrtle right for you?
Common questions
What's lemon myrtle called on an Australian label?
Usually Backhousia citriodora. The Australian rules list lemon myrtle only by its botanical name, as item 753 on Australia's permitted ingredients list. Lemon myrtle on the front of the pack and Backhousia citriodora on the back are the same plant. That listing covers the leaf oil in skin medicines, not the powder you'd cook with.
Is lemon myrtle oil the same as lemon myrtle powder?
They come from the same leaf, but they're different products. The powder is the dried, ground leaf, used in food and drinks like any other dried herb. The oil is taken from the leaf, and in Australian medicines it's only allowed in products for your skin, at no more than 1% of the product. Don't use one as a swap for the other.
