Description
Melrose Collagen Daily Glow is a berry flavoured instant powder built on hydrolysed bovine collagen peptides, with sodium hyaluronate, a beetroot based reds blend and a superfood berry blend carrying astaxanthin from the microalga Haematococcus pluvialis. Each 5.5 g serve provides 3 g of hydrolysed collagen peptides and 120 mg of sodium hyaluronate, and it is sweetened with monk fruit extract rather than sugar. Collagen is the structural protein of skin and connective tissue, and this is a way to take it as hydrolysed peptides in a daily drink, stirred through water, juice or a smoothie.
Product Strengths
- A daily collagen drink, stirred through water, juice or a smoothie.
- Takes collagen as hydrolysed peptides, the short chain form used in powdered collagen drinks.
- 3 g of hydrolysed bovine collagen peptides in every 5.5 g serve.
- 120 mg of sodium hyaluronate per serve.
- Carries astaxanthin from Haematococcus pluvialis microalgae.
- Berry blend of strawberry, acai, blackberry, blackcurrant and pomegranate, over a beetroot base.
- Sweetened with monk fruit extract, at 79 kJ (19 calories) a serve.
- Berry flavoured instant powder that dissolves without a shaker.

Collagen
The protein behind your skin, joints and tendons.
You make less collagen as you age, which is why people start taking it, usually for their skin or for joints that ache after exercise. Stir it into a drink each day.

Is Collagen right for you?
How the forms compare
Common questions
Does collagen actually do anything?
The strongest evidence is for skin. A meta-analysis of 26 randomised trials in 1,721 people found hydrolysed collagen improved skin hydration and elasticity, measured with instruments. The same reviewers pointed out several weaknesses in those trials and called for larger studies, so think of it as promising rather than settled, and give it months.
Marine or bovine collagen. Which should I choose?
Marine collagen comes from fish skin and is almost entirely type I, the main type in skin, and published comparisons rate it as better absorbed. Bovine collagen gives you types I and III. If you have a fish allergy, marine is out, and if you avoid beef, bovine is out.
How long does collagen take to work?
Most published trials ran for eight to twelve weeks before measuring skin results, so that's a fair window to judge it over. Anything promising a visible change in days is describing hydration from the liquid, not new collagen. Take it every day rather than now and then, as the trials did.
Is vegan collagen real collagen?
No. Every genuine collagen supplement comes from animals: cow hide, fish skin, pork or chicken cartilage. Products sold as vegan collagen contain no collagen. They provide amino acids plus helpers such as vitamin C, which your body needs to build its own collagen. That's a different product, so judge it as one.
