Description
Lotus Organic Dark Agave is a 250 mL bottle of certified organic agave nectar from Mexico, where juice is pressed from the agave core, its fructans are converted to fructose with heat or enzymes, and the liquid is then filtered and concentrated into a syrup. The dark grade is less filtered than the light, so it keeps more of the plant's minerals and carries a deeper caramel and molasses character.
Product Strengths
- Bake with it, where the caramel note suits gingerbread, brownies and dark cakes.
- Certified organic and made from a single ingredient: organic agave nectar.
- Less filtered than light agave, which gives it a rich caramel or molasses flavour.
- About one and a half times sweeter than sugar, so you can use less for the same sweetness.
- A vegan alternative to honey, and a stand-in for dark corn syrup, rice malt syrup or maple syrup.
- Pours easily, so it dissolves straight into cold drinks and dressings.
Suitable For / Not Suitable For
Suitable for: Vegans and vegetarians; Everyday snacking and meals.
Not suitable for: Anyone with an allergy to the listed ingredients.
