Description
Lotus Organic Rapadura Sugar is unrefined whole cane sugar in a 500 g bag, made by evaporating the water out of organic sugar cane juice rather than separating and refining the crystals. Because the molasses is never taken out, the sugar keeps a golden brown colour, a fine loose grain and a distinct caramel flavour that carries through into baking and hot drinks. Nothing is added and nothing is taken away. Use it in place of brown sugar in cakes, gingerbread, sauces and hot drinks, where the molasses it keeps gives a deeper caramel flavour than a refined sugar would.

How to Use
Use it where you would use raw or brown sugar: in tea and coffee, over porridge, and in cakes, biscuits, puddings and desserts. It creams a little differently from a refined white sugar because the grain is finer and slightly moist, so give it a moment longer with the butter.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and reseal the bag after opening to stop it clumping.
