Description
Lotus Glucose Powder is dextrose monohydrate, a white crystalline sugar obtained from refined corn starch. It comes as the 500 g and the 1 kg pack, both in resealable oxygen barrier bags. Dextrose is about 70 per cent as sweet as ordinary sugar, which is why bakers and confectioners reach for it when they want bulk, body and browning without the full sweetness. Swap it in for some of the sugar in cakes, biscuits, ice creams and syrups when you want the bulk, body and browning of sugar without the full sweetness.
