Description
Live More You Blackbutt TA 30+ Honey is a single flora Australian honey in a 500 g jar, gathered from the blossom of the blackbutt eucalypt. The honey is cold extracted and lightly filtered. Like most raw Australian honeys it will crystallise in the jar over time, which is a normal change in texture rather than a fault, and it can be warmed gently to loosen it again. It is an amber, full-flavoured table honey for spreading, drizzling, cooking and stirring into drinks. Spread it on toast, stir it into porridge or a hot drink, or use it in a marinade or a glaze, where the fuller eucalypt flavour still comes through the cooking.
Product Strengths
- Serve it with strong cheese or over roast meat, where a mild honey would be lost.
- Single flora honey from blackbutt blossom, a distinctly Australian eucalypt honey.
- Cold extracted and lightly filtered, as stated on the pack.
- Graded TA 30+ on the Total Activity scale, a laboratory grading explained below.
- 500 g jar, a practical everyday size for the kitchen table.
Suitable For / Not Suitable For
Suitable for: Everyday snacking and meals.
Not suitable for: Anyone with an allergy to the listed ingredients; Infants under 12 months (contains honey); Vegans, because it contains honey.
Ingredients
- 100% Australian blackbutt honey.
What TA 30+ Means
TA stands for Total Activity. It is a laboratory grading for honey, reported as a phenol equivalent, that sums two things measured in a sample: peroxide activity and non-peroxide activity. A higher number simply means the sample tested higher on that scale. It is a different scale from the MGO numbers used on Manuka honeys, which state a minimum methylglyoxal content in milligrams per kilogram, so a TA figure and an MGO figure cannot be compared with one another. The grade is TA 30+. The grading describes a laboratory measurement of the honey itself and nothing more; it is not a statement about what the honey does once it is eaten, and no health benefit should be read into the number.
Allergens
The pack carries this advisory: may contain bee pollen, which can cause severe allergic reactions. Honey is a bee product and is not suitable for anyone with a known allergy to bee products, pollen or bee stings. Always review label for full list of ingredients.
Warnings
Not suitable for infants under 12 months of age. This warning is printed on the pack and reflects standard Australian public health advice: honey can carry Clostridium botulinum spores, and infants under one year do not yet have the gut defences to stop those spores producing toxin, which can cause infant botulism. Do not use if the seal is broken. Store below 30°C in a dry, cool place.
Suggested Use
Enjoy it on its own, spread it on toast, drizzle it over yoghurt, porridge or cheese, use it in baking and dressings, or stir it into your favourite foods and beverages. If the honey crystallises in the jar, stand the jar in warm water and warm it gently to bring it back to a pourable consistency. Confirm serving and directions from product label.
Storage
Store below 30°C in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight. Keep the lid closed and use a clean, dry spoon.
Disclaimer
This is a food, not a medicine, and it is not intended to treat, cure or prevent any disease. The TA grading is a laboratory measurement of the honey and is not a health claim. Honey is a concentrated source of natural sugars and should be enjoyed as part of a varied and balanced diet. Not suitable for infants under 12 months. The nutrition information panel is printed on the pack; please read the panel on the jar you receive.
