'I often recommend macadamias for their naturally creamy texture and monounsaturated fat content — they’re a nourishing nut that supports heart health, brain function and sustained energy, all while being gentle on digestion'

Description
Live More You Activated Macadamia is a 300 g pack of whole macadamia kernels that have been activated, which means soaked and then dehydrated. The macadamia is an Australian native tree, Macadamia integrifolia, and its kernel is the softest and creamiest of the common culinary nuts, with a delicate, faintly sweet flavour that a light salting brings forward. It comes as the 300 g pack only. Eat them as they are, scatter them over a salad or a breakfast bowl, or chop them through a slice or a crumble, where their softness reads as buttery rather than crunchy.
Product Strengths
- Blend them into a macadamia butter or a creamy dressing.
- Whole macadamia kernels, declared on the pack as 100% certified organic.
- Activated rather than roasted, so the kernels are soaked and then dried at low temperature.
- Lightly salted with Himalayan salt during activation.
- A two-ingredient food: macadamias and salt, with no oil, sugar, colours or preservatives declared.
- Supplied as a 300 g resealable pack, the larger of the two sizes the store carries.
Suitable For / Not Suitable For
Suitable for: Vegans and vegetarians; Everyday snacking and meals.
Not suitable for: Anyone with an allergy to the listed ingredients; Anyone with a nut allergy; Anyone avoiding sesame.
About Activation
Activation is a two-step process. The raw kernels are soaked in lightly salted water for several hours, then dried in a dehydrator at a low temperature until they are crisp again. Live More You uses Himalayan salt at the soaking stage, which is why salt appears in the ingredient list. The result is a drier, crisper bite and a lightly savoury edge compared with a raw kernel. No oil is added at any point.
Suggested Use
Eat straight from the pack as a snack, scatter over salads and breakfast bowls for crunch, or chop into biscuits, slices and crumbles. Macadamias are soft enough to blitz into a smooth butter and they hold their shape well in baking. Whole nuts are a choking hazard for young children, and Australian guidance is not to give whole nuts to children under four years of age.
Ingredients
- Certified organic activated macadamias.
- Himalayan salt, used during activation.
Allergens
Contains macadamia, a declarable tree nut under the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code. The pack carries this advisory: "Contains macadamias. May contain traces of other tree nuts, peanuts and sesame." That is a cross-contamination statement, so it is not suitable for anyone allergic to any tree nut, to peanut or to sesame, even though macadamia is the only nut used on purpose. Always review label for full list of ingredients.
Nutrition Information
Figures per 100 g, exactly as this pack's legacy copy declared them.
| Average quantity | Per 100 g |
|---|---|
| Protein | 7.6 g |
| Fat, total | 76.2 g |
| Carbohydrate, total | 4.5 g |
| Sodium | 4.0 mg |
This is a partial panel and it is one line shorter than the 100 g listing, which also declared sugars 4.5 g. Read the full panel on the pack. Note on sodium: comparable certified organic activated macadamias salted the same way declare about 96 mg of sodium per 100 g, so 4.0 mg looks like the unsalted kernel rather than the finished salted product.
Suitable For
Suitable for vegans and vegetarians, with only macadamias and Himalayan salt and no animal-derived ingredient. Not suitable for anyone with a macadamia allergy or any other tree nut allergy, and not suitable for anyone allergic to peanut or sesame because of the cross-contamination advisory on the pack. Not suitable as a whole nut for children under four years of age. This is a salted product, so read the sodium figure on the pack if you are managing your salt intake.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Reseal the pack tightly after opening. Macadamias carry a high natural oil content, so they keep best sealed, away from heat, and eaten within a reasonable time of opening.
Disclaimer
This is a food, not a therapeutic good. It holds no ARTG listing and none is required. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Always read the label and use as directed.

Macadamias
Australia's own tree nut, grown up the Queensland coast.
Most people buy them to eat. Raw, roasted or salted. The oil's a separate thing, pressed for cooking and for skin, and it handles heat better than most.

Is Macadamias right for you?
Common questions
What's the difference between macadamia nuts and macadamia oil?
The nut is the whole food, eaten as a snack or used in baking. The oil is pressed from it and sold for cooking, where its high smoke point suits frying, and sometimes for skin. Both are permitted listed ingredients in Australia. Which you want depends entirely on whether you're eating them or cooking with them.
Are macadamias an allergen?
Yes. Macadamias are a tree nut and a declarable allergen under the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code, so products containing them must say so on the label. If you have a tree nut allergy, that includes macadamias. Check the label of anything you're buying for someone else too.
