'Brazil nuts are incredibly versatile in the kitchen. Blend them with herbs, garlic and olive oil to create a nutrient rich pesto or chop them into muffins, granola and protein bars to add texture and a selenium boost.'

Description
Live More You Activated Brazil is a 300 g pack of whole brazil nut kernels that have been activated, which means soaked and then dehydrated. Brazil nuts are the seed of the Amazonian tree Bertholletia excelsa and are among the largest kernels sold at retail, with a dense, smooth texture and a mild, buttery taste. It comes as the 300 g pack only. Eat them whole as a snack, chop them through a muesli or a slice, or blend them into a rich, creamy nut milk.
Product Strengths
- Grate them over pasta or roast vegetables as a dairy-free alternative to parmesan.
- Whole brazil nut kernels, declared on the pack as 100% certified organic.
- Activated rather than roasted, so the kernels are soaked and then dried at low temperature.
- Lightly salted with Himalayan salt during activation.
- A two-ingredient food: brazil nuts and salt, with no oil, sugar, colours or preservatives declared.
- Supplied as a 300 g resealable pack, the larger of the two sizes the store carries.
Suitable For / Not Suitable For
Suitable for: Vegans and vegetarians; Everyday snacking and meals.
Not suitable for: Anyone with an allergy to the listed ingredients; Anyone with a nut allergy; Anyone avoiding sesame.
About Activation
Activation is a two-step process. The raw kernels are soaked in lightly salted water for several hours, then dried in a dehydrator at a low temperature until they are crisp again. Live More You uses Himalayan salt at the soaking stage, which is why salt appears in the ingredient list. The result is a drier, crisper bite and a lightly savoury edge compared with a raw kernel. No oil is added at any point.
How to Use
Eat straight from the pack as a snack, chop over porridge, salads or yoghurt, or blend into nut butters, raw slices and baking. Brazil nuts are large and rich, so a small handful goes a long way. Whole nuts are a choking hazard for young children, and Australian guidance is not to give whole nuts to children under four years of age.
Ingredients
- Certified organic activated brazil nuts.
- Himalayan salt, used during activation.
Allergens
Contains brazil nut, a declarable tree nut under the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code. The pack carries this advisory: "Contains Brazil Nuts. May contain traces of other Tree Nuts, Peanuts and Sesame." That is a cross-contamination statement, so it is not suitable for anyone allergic to any tree nut, to peanut or to sesame, even though brazil nut is the only nut used on purpose. Always review label for full list of ingredients.
