Description
Live More You Activated Almond is a 300 g resealable pouch of whole almonds that have been activated. Activating is a two-step process: the raw almonds are soaked in water for an extended period, then slowly dried at low temperature until they are crisp again. Nothing is roasted and nothing is added but a little salt used during the soak. The result is a almond with a dry, crunchy bite and a clean, mild flavour. Eat them as a snack, chop them over porridge or a salad, or soak and blend them into an almond milk.
Product Strengths
- Chop them into granola bars, slices and bliss balls.
- Activated, not roasted: Long soaking followed by slow low-temperature dehydration, so the almonds stay crisp without being roasted or oiled.
- Whole almonds, nothing else: Almonds plus Himalayan salt used during activation, with no oils, sugars, coatings or flavourings.
- Tree nut allergen declared: Almond is a declarable tree nut, named in its own allergen statement on the pack.
- Resealable pouch: A 300 g stand-up pouch with a zip closure, so the pack can be resealed after opening.
- Easy to portion: A 300 g pouch, the larger of the two almond sizes stocked.
Suitable For / Not Suitable For
Suitable for: Everyday snacking and meals.
Not suitable for: Anyone with an allergy to the listed ingredients; Anyone with a nut allergy; Anyone avoiding sesame.
Ingredients
- Activated almonds.
- Himalayan salt, used during activation.
The nutrition information panel is printed on the back of the pack.
Allergens
Contains almonds. Almond is a tree nut and must be declared as an allergen under the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code. It is not suitable for anyone with a tree nut allergy. The pack also carries the precautionary statement "May contain traces of other tree nuts, peanuts and sesame", which means the almonds are handled in a facility that also handles those foods. Precautionary statements of this kind are voluntary and are not regulated by the Food Standards Code, so anyone managing a nut, peanut or sesame allergy should treat it as a real risk. Whole nuts are also a choking hazard for young children. Always review label for full list of ingredients.
Nutrition Information
Serving size 50 g. Figures exactly as the store's legacy panel declared them.
| Average quantity | Per 50 g serve | Per 100 g |
|---|---|---|
| Energy | 1254 kJ | 2508 kJ |
| Protein | 9.8 g | 19.5 g |
| Fat, total | 27.4 g | 54.7 g |
| Fat, saturated | 1.9 g | 3.7 g |
| Carbohydrate, total | 2.4 g | 4.8 g |
| Carbohydrate, sugars | 2.4 g | 4.8 g |
| Sodium | 2.5 mg | 5.0 mg |
Note on sodium: comparable certified organic activated nuts salted the same way declare roughly 95 mg to 110 mg of sodium per 100 g, so this sodium figure looks like the unsalted kernel rather than the finished salted product. Confirm sodium against the panel on the pack.
Suggested Use
Eat as a snack straight from the pouch, scatter over porridge, yoghurt or salads, or chop through baking. Almonds can also be blended into nut milk or nut butter. Confirm serving size from the nutrition information panel on the pack.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Reseal the pouch tightly after opening to keep the almonds crisp.

Almonds
The nut, and everything made from it.
Whole and blanched for eating, meal and flour for baking, butter for spreading, milk for drinking. Which one you want depends entirely on what you're doing with it.

Is Almonds right for you?
Common questions
What's the difference between almond meal and almond flour?
Meal is usually ground with the skins left on, so it's coarser and flecked brown. Flour is normally made from blanched almonds with the skins removed, so it's finer and paler. Recipes often use the names interchangeably, and either works in most baking. Check the pack if the colour or texture of the finished thing matters to you.
Are almonds regulated as a medicine in Australia?
Almond is a permitted ingredient in listed medicines, as item 476 of the Permissible Ingredients Determination, where it's used as an excipient. But almonds sold as food — whole, meal, butter, oil or milk — sit under food standards law instead, not the medicines framework. No almond-specific permitted indication was found.
