Description
Honest to Goodness Organic Rolled Spelt is Australian-grown hulled spelt that has been gently rolled into light brown flakes. Spelt is an ancient member of the wheat family with a nutty, slightly sweet flavour, and the flakes behave much like rolled oats, so they cook down into porridge in a few minutes and can stand in for oats in most recipes. It comes as the 850 g bag. It is a breakfast grain first of all, for the porridge bowl and the muesli jar.
Product Strengths
- A breakfast grain, hot or cold.
- Use them to bulk out rissoles and patties, or as a crumble topping over fruit.
- Certified organic and Australian grown. Honest to Goodness is certified by ACO (Australian Certified Organic).
- Packed in Australia from at least 100% Australian ingredients.
- One ingredient: organic hulled spelt, gently rolled.
- Works as a swap for rolled oats in porridge, muesli, granola bars and baking.
- Plant based, so it suits vegan and vegetarian eating.
Suitable For / Not Suitable For
Suitable for: Vegans and vegetarians; Everyday snacking and meals.
Not suitable for: Anyone with an allergy to the listed ingredients.
Suggested Use
For porridge, cook the flakes in water or your milk of choice for a few minutes until they reach the consistency you like, then finish with fruit, nuts or a drizzle of honey. The flakes also make a good cold muesli base, and they bake well into biscuits, breads and granola bars. Confirm serving and directions from product label.
Ingredients
- Organic hulled spelt (100%).
Allergens
Contains: wheat and gluten. Spelt is a wheat species, so it is not suitable for anyone with coeliac disease, a wheat allergy or a need to avoid gluten. May be present: sesame, soy and tree nuts. Always review label for full list of ingredients.
