Description
Pine nuts are the edible seeds of pine trees. They are small, soft and creamy in texture.
Benefits
They are also known as pinon, pinolos, and pignole. They are a rich source of mono-unsaturated fatty acids like oleic acid which helps to lower LDL or 'bad cholesterol' and increase 'good cholesterol' or HDL. They are high in vitamin E and B complex vitamins and a range of minerals like manganese, potassium, calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc and selenium.
ingredients
Organic pine nuts
suggested dose
Pine nut kernels are excellent in stir-fries, tossed in a salad or in a stuffing. A light roasting brings out their natural rich flavour and creates a crispy texture. Eaten raw the nuts have a creamy soft texture. Pine nuts are a favourite ingredient in pesto.
