Description
Honest to Goodness Organic Chickpeas, also called garbanzos, are dried Australian-grown legumes with a mild nutty flavour. They hold their round shape through cooking, which is why they work as well in a salad as they do blended into hummus. They swell considerably once cooked, so a little goes a long way. It comes as the 1 kg pack. Soak them overnight and simmer them until tender, then blend them into hummus or falafel, or keep them whole for a curry, a soup or a salad.
Product Strengths
- A dried alternative to tinned chickpeas, so you set the salt and how soft they cook.
- Roast the cooked chickpeas with spices for a crisp snack.
- Certified organic and packed in Australia from at least 100% Australian ingredients.
- Single-ingredient dried legume with no preservatives and no GMO.
- Keep their shape when cooked, so they suit salads and curries as well as hummus.
- Swell considerably during cooking, so a 1 kg bag goes a long way.
Suitable For / Not Suitable For
Suitable for: Everyday snacking and meals.
Not suitable for: Anyone with an allergy to the listed ingredients.
Suggested Use
Great in hummus, soups, curries, salads and pasta dishes. Chickpeas take longer to cook than most beans, so allow extra time. Confirm serving and directions from product label.
Ingredients
- Organic Chickpeas.
Allergens
Honest to Goodness and Rita's Farm Produce both state no declarable allergens. One other Australian retail listing carries a may-be-present advisory for gluten, sesame, soy and tree nuts. Always review label for full list of ingredients.
