5C Light Ash

Herbatint 5C Light Ash Chestnut is a permanent haircolour gel from the Italian brand Herbatint, supplied in Australia by Raylara Pty Ltd. This is an Ash (C) shade, formulated to neutralise or soften unwanted copper and red undertones. Ash shades carry a lower pigment concentration than the Natural (N) series, so on medium to high percentages of grey they may cover less completely. For full grey coverage, mix the ash shade one to one with the matching Natural shade, then add an equal volume of developer.

The 170 mL box contains a 60 mL bottle of Herbatint 5C permanent colour gel, a 60 mL bottle of developer, a 50 mL sample of Royal Conditioner and a pair of application gloves, with instructions printed inside the box. That is enough for up to two applications depending on hair length.

Suggested Use

Carry out an allergy test 48 hours before every application, following the instructions in the leaflet inside the box. Hair must be dry and unwashed.

• Mix equal parts colour gel and developer in a plastic or glass bowl. Never use anything made of metal.
• Blend until you have a smooth gel, then apply with a tint brush from the roots.
• On previously coloured hair, apply to the regrowth first and leave for 30 minutes, then take the mixture through the lengths for a further 10 minutes, 40 minutes in total.
• On uncoloured hair, apply through the whole length and leave for the full 40 minutes.
• Rinse thoroughly until the water runs clear, tipping your head back to keep colour out of your eyes.
• Shampoo, then apply the Royal Conditioner for 5 minutes and rinse.
• Reseal the bottles and keep any unmixed product for a future application. A tint brush, measuring cup and mixing bowl are not included.

Wear the gloves supplied. Avoid contact with the eyes and rinse immediately if the product enters them. Rinse hair well after the mixture has developed. Keep out of reach of children. 1. Mix the colour and developer in a plastic or glass bowl (not metal) in equal parts and in an amount sufficient for the length and volume of the hair.

2. Mix with a brush until a gel-like consistency is achieved and apply the product to dry, unwashed hair, starting from the roots.

3. Leave on for 40 minutes, it is important to strictly follow the recommended processing time.

4. After 40 minutes, wash the hair thoroughly, keeping your head tilted back to avoid contact with the eyes. Apply your usual shampoo or Color Safe shampoo and rinse until the water runs completely clear. Apply Royal conditioner, the acid pH conditioner that restructures the hair by sealing the colour inside and preserving its shine. Leave it on for 1 minute, then rinse off and proceed with drying.

5. Rinse thoroughly and abundantly until the water runs completely clear. Rinse with your head tilted back to avoid contact with the eyes.
