Balsamic Vinegar
The sweet-tart finish your dishes deserve.
Balsamic vinegar is made from aged grape must, traditionally in Modena and Reggio Emilia in Italy. Shake it into a dressing, add it to a marinade, or splash a little over a dish right at the end.

Is Balsamic Vinegar right for you?
Common questions
Is balsamic vinegar regulated as a supplement in Australia?
No. It's sold and used here as a food and condiment, so medicine rules don't apply to it. It isn't on Australia's permitted ingredients list (Schedule 1) under its own name, and that isn't a ban. It's simply because balsamic vinegar is a food. No permitted health claim applies to it.
Can a supplement contain balsamic vinegar?
Only as a flavour, under the general vinegar entry (item 5174 on Australia's permitted ingredients list). That entry only allows vinegar in a medicine combined with other permitted ingredients, with total flavours at no more than 5%. It covers vinegar as a flavour, not as the active ingredient, and it doesn't support any health claim for balsamic vinegar.
