BCAA
Recovery support for your hardest sessions.
BCAAs are three of the nine essential amino acids, taken around training to help reduce that deep ache a day or two after a hard session. Use them as an extra alongside your protein.

Is BCAA right for you?
How the forms compare
Common questions
Should I take BCAAs or a protein powder?
If you can only have one, choose protein powder. BCAAs give you three of the nine essential amino acids, so they're an incomplete protein by design. In a 12-month trial in 150 people, 30 grams of BCAA a day gave no advantage over the same amount of whey on any measure.
When should I take BCAAs. Before or after training?
Both, and starting before matters more than you'd think. Neither review found an effect when BCAAs were taken only after the hard session, and one analysis found that starting earlier before the session gave bigger effects. So a scoop taken only after your workout isn't what was tested.
Are BCAAs the same as EAAs?
No. EAA means all nine essential amino acids, while BCAA means three of them: leucine, isoleucine and valine. On paper, EAAs are the more complete option, and they're overtaking BCAAs in Australian searches, but we couldn't find a trial comparing the two head to head.
