Warnings
Vitamin and mineral supplements should not replace a balanced diet. If symptoms persist, talk to your healthcare professional. Do not use if the cap or seal is missing or broken. Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for children, without medical advice, because of the passionflower. Passionflower may add to the effect of sedative medicines; check with your healthcare professional if you take any. High doses of magnesium can loosen the bowels. Keep out of reach of children.
Allergens
Free from gluten, wheat, dairy, lactose, cereals, eggs, nuts, yeast and salt, with no artificial colours or flavours added. The powder is sweetened with steviol glycosides and contains sucrose and maltodextrin. The powder is vegetarian and vegan friendly. Always review label for full list of ingredients.
Storage
Store below 30 degrees C. Keep the tub tightly closed and away from direct sunlight and moisture, and use a dry scoop. No refrigeration is required.

Magnesium
The mineral your muscles and nerves run on.
Magnesium helps your muscles relax, supports normal nerve function, and plays a part in keeping your blood sugar and blood pressure steady. Running low tends to show up as tiredness, headaches or weakness.

Is Magnesium right for you?
How the forms compare
Common questions
Which form of magnesium is best absorbed?
The forms that dissolve well absorb best. Magnesium citrate, chloride, lactate and aspartate are absorbed more completely than magnesium oxide or sulfate, and one review puts oxide absorption as low as 4%. Glycinate and chloride also absorb well and are usually gentler on your bowels. Oxide is poorly absorbed.
How much magnesium is too much?
The NHMRC upper limit for magnesium from supplements is 350 mg a day if you're nine or older, 110 mg for ages four to eight, and 65 mg for ages one to three. That limit covers supplements and medicines only, not magnesium from food.
Does magnesium interact with medicines?
Yes. Magnesium can bind to bisphosphonates and some antibiotics, so you need to space them apart: at least two hours for bisphosphonates, and two hours before or four to six hours after tetracyclines and quinolones. Loop and thiazide diuretics make you lose more magnesium in your urine. Check with your doctor or pharmacist first.
What does the evidence actually say about magnesium and sleep?
It's less solid than the marketing suggests. Systematic reviews have found people fell asleep a little sooner, around 17 minutes in one analysis, but reviewers rated the trials too weak for firm recommendations. The evidence for anxiety and mood is similarly low quality. The honest answer: promising, but not proven.
