Citrus Splash Natural Deodorant

Citrus Splash is the brightest of Clean and Pure's four natural deodorants, a 60 g push-up stick in the biodegradable paper and cardboard tube the Mandurah maker uses across its deodorant range. The base is caprylic/capric triglyceride, candelilla wax and coconut oil, firmed with cetearyl alcohol and carrying sodium bicarbonate, tapioca starch and kaolin, and the scent is a moderately sweet mix of sweet orange, lime, lemon peel and grapefruit peel with citrus ylang ylang behind it. Smooth a thin layer under each arm after a shower for everyday odour control; it is a deodorant rather than an antiperspirant, so it works on odour and not on perspiration.

Suitable for: Adults wanting an everyday underarm deodorant in a paper and cardboard tube, carrying none of the aluminium salts an antiperspirant uses.

Not suitable for: Anyone with an allergy to the listed ingredients; anyone whose skin reacts to sodium bicarbonate, which is the odour control agent in this stick; broken, irritated or freshly shaved skin; contact with the eyes; and anyone looking for an antiperspirant, because it does not reduce perspiration.

Suggested Use

• Remove the lid and use your finger to gently push up from the base to reveal 1-2mm.
• Apply under your armpit as required.
• Do not push back down, just replace the cap.

It is scented with a blend of essential oils, which are among the commonest fragrance sensitisers, and the base carries coconut oil and shea butter, which comes from the nut of the shea tree. Citrus peel oils are recognised fragrance sensitisers and are the ones to watch in this stick.

Sodium bicarbonate is the odour control agent in this stick and it irritates some underarm skin. Apply a small amount to one arm and leave it a day before using it regularly.

Do not apply to broken, irritated or freshly shaved skin.

Avoid contact with the eyes.

Storage

Keep the lid on and stand the tube upright in a cool, dry place, out of direct sun. The paper and cardboard tube is not built to get wet, so keep it out of the shower.
