Description
100% Australian Grass-fed Hydrolysed Bovine Collagen Peptides Type I and III with an average molecular weight <1kDa (highly bioavailable). This is a delicious and creamy vanilla flavour thanks to Buttermilk Powder and natural vanilla flavour. Buttermilk has the vitamins and minerals of milk without spiking your insulin. Great on its own or in your smoothie or coffee!
About Collagen Peptides:
Collagen peptides are a completely hydrolysed form of collagen protein, which means the amino acid strands of the protein are broken into individual collagen peptides making them easy to digest and highly bioavailable. Studies have shown more than 90% of collagen peptides are digested and available in the bloodstream within one hour.
You need to be careful with where your collagen comes from. Most collagen powder comes from overseas and some have tested positive for traces of heavy metal contamination. While some brands use Australian bovine sources, they ship raw ingredients to the US to be hydrolysed then ship it all the way back to Australia. Our collagen is 100% Australian grown, hydrolysed and made. Home grown quality you can trust.

Collagen Protein
Protein for joints and tendons that work hard.
Collagen protein is rich in glycine and proline, the building blocks of connective tissue. It's the protein people choose when their knees ache after exercise.

Is this the right protein powder for you?
Common questions
Is collagen protein the same as the protein powder in the sports aisle?
It sits on the same shelf, but it's a different material. Whey, soy and pea are complete proteins, with every essential amino acid in useful amounts. Collagen isn't. It has no tryptophan and very little leucine, the amino acid that switches on muscle building, so whey does that job far better. Instead, collagen is rich in glycine, proline and hydroxyproline, the amino acids connective tissue is built from. Joints and tendons are where its evidence sits, and the skin research is still debated.
Why does the label say hydrolysed collagen rather than collagen?
Because hydrolysed collagen has been cut into shorter peptides, and that's how Australian rules name it. Australia's permitted ingredients list (Schedule 1) has COLLAGEN as item 1536 and HYDROLYSED COLLAGEN as item 2624, with gelatin and hydrolysed gelatin listed separately. None of the four has a condition, warning or cap. Most collagen powders are sold as foods anyway, so look for an AUST L number on the pack if you want to know which set of rules applies.
