Description
Caruso's Super Curcumin uses CurcuWIN, a turmeric extract produced with UltraSOL technology in which curcumin is bound to a water-loving carrier. Each film coated tablet delivers 36 mg of curcumin from 150 mg of CurcuWIN, equivalent to 712.5 mg of dry turmeric rhizome.

Allergens
Free from added sugar, dairy, lactose, gluten, wheat, yeast, corn, starch, soy, nuts, animal products, preservatives and artificial flavours. Always review label for full list of ingredients.
Suggested Use
Adults: take 1 tablet twice daily with food, or as advised by your health professional.
Do not use in gallbladder disease or in the presence of gallstones. Use with caution with antiplatelet or anticoagulant medication. Not suitable for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Not suitable for children under 18 years. Take at least two hours away from pharmaceutical medications.

Curcumin
Mild joint aches and stiffness are what most people take curcumin for.
It's the yellow compound concentrated out of turmeric root, and it's sold on its own rather than as the spice. The catch is absorption. Plain curcumin barely reaches your blood, so the delivery form on the label matters more than the milligrams on the front.

Which curcumin is best absorbed?
On the largest measured increase, micellar solubilisates lead: one crossover found 185 times the absorption of native powder. Phytosome complexes measured 29-fold in a manufacturer-linked study and 7.9-fold independently. Piperine combinations are the cheapest real upgrade. Fold-figures come from different studies with different reference doses, so treat them as a ranking, not arithmetic.
Do you need black pepper with curcumin?
Piperine genuinely helps. The 1998 human study paired 2 grams of curcumin with 20 milligrams of piperine and reported a 2,000 per cent rise in bioavailability. It works by slowing the enzymes that clear curcumin, which also means it can slow the clearance of medicines, so it raises interaction risk alongside absorption.
Is curcumin the same as turmeric?
No. Turmeric is the whole dried root of Curcuma longa; curcumin is one isolated compound from inside it. Curcuminoids are only about two to nine per cent of the dried root, and curcumin is roughly three-quarters of that. A curcumin supplement is a concentrate, not a spice, and the two are regulated as separate Schedule 1 items.
Does better absorbed mean it works better?
Not necessarily, and this is the honest gap in the category. In the 29-fold phytosome study only phase-2 metabolites were detectable, at concentrations below what most proposed mechanisms need. A six-week trial of highly bioavailable micellar curcuminoids found they accumulated in blood safely but did not shift blood lipids or inflammation markers.
