Description
Caruso's Dandelion 3000 is a single herb tablet carrying 600 mg of concentrated dandelion root extract, equivalent to 3 g of dry root. Dandelion root has a long history in Western herbal medicine as a bitter digestive and liver herb. It is taken as two tablets a day, one with the morning meal and one with the evening meal.

The 600 mg is the concentrated extract in the tablet. The 3 g is the quantity of dry dandelion root that extract was made from.
Excipients: calcium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate, carnauba wax, colloidal anhydrous silica, croscarmellose sodium, crospovidone, ethylcellulose, hypromellose, macrogol 400, magnesium stearate, maltodextrin, microcrystalline cellulose and povidone.
Allergens
Caruso's lists this tablet as made without animal products, artificial colours, artificial flavours, dairy, gluten, lactose, nuts, preservatives, soya beans, starch, wheat or yeast, and describes it as suitable for vegans. Always review label for full list of ingredients.
Suggested Use
Adults, take 2 tablets daily, one with the morning meal and one with the evening meal, or as advised by your health professional.
Warnings
- Drink plenty of water.
- Prolonged use may cause serious bowel problems.
- Do not use when abdominal pain, nausea or vomiting are present, or if you develop diarrhoea.
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, seek the advice of a health professional.

Dandelion
The weed in your lawn, and both halves of it get used.
Leaf and root are different products with different traditions behind them, and Schedule 1 lists them separately. Roasted root is what dandelion coffee is made from. Leaf usually turns up in teas and liquid extracts.

What's the difference between dandelion leaf and dandelion root?
They're separate products with separate traditions and separate Schedule 1 entries. The root is what gets roasted into dandelion coffee, and it's the part sold as a digestive bitter. The leaf more often turns up in teas and liquid extracts. If a product just says dandelion, check which part it actually uses.
Is dandelion coffee the same as a dandelion supplement?
Not in regulatory terms. Dandelion coffee is roasted root sold as a food, under the Food Standards Code. A dandelion tablet, capsule or liquid extract is a listed medicine ingredient under Schedule 1. Same plant, two different frameworks, and different rules about what each can say.
