Description
Bonvit Guarana Energy Powder is the ground seed of the Amazonian guarana vine, Paullinia cupana, with nothing added to it: no fillers, no colours, no flavours. Guarana seed is naturally rich in caffeine, which is the reason it has been a fixture of Brazilian soft drinks, chocolate and confectionery for generations. Stir a level 5 mL spoonful into a glass of water, fruit juice or a smoothie when you want the flavour and the caffeine of the seed itself rather than a brewed drink.
Product Strengths
- Stirred into water, juice or a smoothie, one level 5 mL spoonful at a time.
- A natural source of caffeine, the compound in guarana seed also called guaranine.
- Long used in Brazil as a flavour in soft drinks, chocolate and confectionery.
- One ingredient: guarana seed powder, free from all additives.
- Gluten free, dairy free and free from added colour.

Is Guarana right for you?
Common questions
Is guarana just caffeine?
No. Guarana is a seed, and caffeine is only one of the things in it. The seed is dried and ground whole, so you're buying a plant material that naturally contains a high amount of caffeine, not a single isolated compound.
Is guarana regulated as a medicine in Australia?
Guarana can be used in listed medicines under its botanical name, Paullinia cupana, which is item 3724 on Australia's permitted ingredients list (Schedule 1). Its caffeine content is capped by law, and labels must carry warnings about caffeine, including for pregnancy and breastfeeding. We haven't found a permitted health claim specific to guarana.
