Peanut Butter
Roasted peanuts, ground into a delicious spread.
Natural styles are simply peanuts, sometimes with a little salt, while others add sugar, salt or palm oil to stop the oil separating. Choose smooth or crunchy, depending on how you like it.

Is Peanut Butter right for you?
Common questions
What should I look for on the label?
Mostly the ingredient list. Natural styles contain peanuts and sometimes salt, nothing else. Others add sugar, palm oil or emulsifiers to stop the oil separating. Neither is wrong, but they're different products. If oil sitting on top bothers you, that's what the added ingredients prevent.
Is peanut butter regulated as a supplement?
No. It's a food, regulated under the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code rather than the rules for therapeutic goods, and it isn't on Australia's permitted ingredients list (Schedule 1). Peanuts must be declared as an allergen under that Code, so any product containing them has to say so clearly on the label.
