Description
Blackmores Run Down Rescue is a film coated tablet that puts four herbal extracts, astragalus, reishi mushroom, echinacea and Siberian ginseng, alongside vitamin C, zinc, selenium and betacarotene. It is a two tablet daily dose taken when you are feeling run down. It comes as the 30 tablet bottle.
Product Strengths

- Reishi mushroom: Ganoderma lucidum extract dry conc. 37.5 mg, equiv. dry fruiting body 750 mg.
- Echinacea and Siberian ginseng: Echinacea purpurea extract dry conc. 125 mg, equiv. dry root 750 mg, and Eleutherococcus senticosus extract dry conc. 66.7 mg, equiv. dry root 1 g.
- Vitamin C 250 mg, zinc 15 mg and selenium 50 micrograms per tablet, with betacarotene 720 micrograms.
- Listed uses: Relieves tiredness and feelings of weakness, supports energy levels, supports immune system health, and reduces free radicals formed in the body.
Suitable For / Not Suitable For
Suitable for: Adults who feel run down and want herbal, vitamin and mineral support in one tablet.
Not suitable for: Vegetarians and vegans, because it contains fish and the recorded excipient list includes gelatin. Anyone with a fish allergy, which it contains, and anyone sensitive to sulfites. Pregnancy and breastfeeding. Anyone under 18 years, because it carries an adults only warning. Anyone already taking zinc or selenium from another supplement, because both have daily ceilings.

In each herbal pair the larger figure is the dried herb the extract represents and the smaller figure is the extract itself; the two are not interchangeable. Zinc amino acid chelate 75 mg is the chelate and 15 mg is the elemental zinc, and selenomethionine 124 micrograms is the compound and 50 micrograms is the elemental selenium. Excipients include ascorbyl palmitate, calcium hydrogen phosphate, carnauba wax, colloidal anhydrous silica, croscarmellose sodium, dl-alpha-tocopherol, gelatin, hypromellose, iron oxide red, macrogol 8000, magnesium stearate, maize oil, maize starch, microcrystalline cellulose, sodium starch glycollate, sucrose and titanium dioxide.
Allergens
Contains fish and sulfites. The recorded excipient list includes gelatin, so this is not a vegetarian or vegan product. Always review label for full list of ingredients.
Suggested Use
Adults, when feeling run down: Take 2 tablets once a day. Take with food.
Warnings
Adults only. Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Contains zinc, which may be dangerous if taken in large amounts or for a long period. This medicine contains selenium, which is toxic in high doses; a daily dose of 150 micrograms of selenium for adults from dietary supplements should not be exceeded. Dietary supplements can only be of assistance if dietary intake is inadequate. If symptoms persist, talk to your health professional. Keep out of reach of children.
Storage
Store below 25°C in a dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep the pack tightly closed.
