Description
Mindful Foods Organic and Activated Tamari Almonds are organic almonds that have been activated, soaked in kombucha, filtered water and Australian rock salt and then dried slowly at low temperature rather than roasted, and seasoned with organic tamari, wild harvested Tasmanian wakame and chickpea miso. This is the 300 g bag rather than the glass jar, and it is labelled gluten free and vegan. Eat them by the handful as a savoury snack, or scatter them over rice bowls, noodles, salads and steamed greens where you would otherwise reach for croutons or fried shallots.
Product Strengths
- Eats as a savoury, salty snack straight from the bag.

Is Almonds right for you?
Common questions
What's the difference between almond meal and almond flour?
Meal is usually ground with the skins left on, so it's coarser and flecked brown. Flour is normally made from blanched almonds with the skins removed, so it's finer and paler. Recipes often use the names interchangeably, and either works in most baking. Check the pack if the colour or texture of what you're making matters to you.
Are almonds regulated as a medicine in Australia?
Almond is on the permitted ingredients list for listed medicines (item 476), where it's used as an inactive ingredient (excipient). But almonds sold as food, whether whole or as meal, butter, oil or milk, come under food standards law instead, not medicine rules. We couldn't find a permitted health claim specific to almonds.
