Description
Honest to Goodness Organic Pomegranate Vinegar is naturally fermented, unpasteurised and unfiltered, so the strand-like sediment known as 'the mother' settles in the bottle - a sign the vinegar has been left alone rather than stripped back. The flavour is bright and fruity, sweeter and softer than a wine vinegar, with a tang that lifts rather than dominates. Supplied in a 500 ml bottle. Drizzle it over a leaf or tomato salad, whisk it into a marinade for chicken or pork, or dilute a spoonful in cold water as a shrub-style drink.

What is pomegranate used for?
Pomegranate is for your glass and your kitchen: 100% juice for drinking, molasses for cooking, vinegar for dressings, or blended into a tulsi tea. There's also a practitioner-only tablet, which one of our naturopaths can choose for you.

Is Pomegranate right for you?
Common questions
Is pomegranate regulated as a medicine in Australia?
It can be. Pomegranate is a permitted ingredient in listed medicines as item 4064 on Australia's permitted ingredients list (Schedule 1), and Punica granatum is listed separately at item 4223. Neither comes with conditions, a dose limit or a required warning, and there's no permitted health claim for pomegranate. Most pomegranate sold here is food rather than medicine, and the juice, molasses and vinegar come under the Food Standards Code instead.
Juice, molasses or vinegar. What's the difference?
It's the same fruit, with three different jobs in the kitchen. The 100% juice is for drinking, and it's worth checking the ingredient list if you want pomegranate and nothing else. Molasses is a thick, tangy syrup used in cooking, especially in Middle Eastern dishes. The vinegar goes into dressings and marinades. None of the three is sold as a medicine, so choose by what you plan to make.
