Description
Superfeast Wild Chaga is a single ingredient extract of Inonotus obliquus, the hard black chaga sclerotium that grows on birch. It is dual extracted in both water and alcohol at a 10:1 ratio, because chaga is a dense, woody growth and the two solvents draw out different fractions of it. Mild, earthy and woody rather than bitter, it stirs into hot water or plant milk and sits beautifully in a coffee or a savoury broth.
Chaga does not take to cultivation, so this one is harvested wild from old growth birch forests in the Changbai Mountain region of China. The powder is dark and earthy with a mild, woody flavour. Use it as a daily drink: stir it into hot water or plant milk, or add it to coffee, hot and cold drinks, broths and meals.
Product Strengths
- A daily drink powder: stir into hot water or plant milk, or add to coffee, hot and cold drinks, broths and meals.
- Mild, earthy and woody rather than bitter, so it sits well in a coffee or a savoury broth.
- One ingredient, the chaga sclerotium, and nothing else in the jar.
- 10:1 dual extract in water and alcohol, so 10 kg of dried chaga goes into every 1 kg of powder.
- Comes as the 100 g Miron violet glass jar.
Suitable For / Not Suitable For
Suitable for: Adults. Anyone who wants a wild harvested powder to add to drinks and cooking.
Not suitable for: Anyone with a culinary mushroom allergy. Pregnancy and breastfeeding, unless an experienced healthcare practitioner advises it, as there is no safety data for these times. Children, unless a health professional advises it.
