Switch Nutrition 100% Pure Tart Cherry Extract 50:1 is an unflavoured powder containing dual-extracted Montmorency cherry concentrate. Each 500 mg serve is equivalent to approximately 750 ml of fresh tart cherry juice and delivers naturally occurring melatonin and polyphenols.

Ingredients

Per 500 mg serve: Prunus cerasus (Tart Cherry) Extract 500 mg (50:1 dual-extract, Montmorency variety).

Suggested Use

Mix 1 serve (500 mg powder) in 150-200 ml water or preferred beverage. Take 30 minutes post-exercise for recovery support or 30 minutes before bed for sleep support. Mix well before consuming.

Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight. Keep container sealed.

What is tart cherry?

Tart cherry is the sour cherry, sold as juice, concentrate or extract. Pour the juice straight, mix the concentrate with water so a bottle goes further, or choose the extract if you'd rather skip the drink.

The evidence, and its limits

The Australian rules

Tart cherry and Montmorency cherry have no entry on Australia's permitted ingredients list (Schedule 1, Determination No. 2 of 2026). Plain cherry has its own entry, item 1336, and cherry distillate is item 1337, but neither has been confirmed to cover tart cherry specifically. Wild cherry bark, items 5213 and 5214, is a different part of the plant with its own limits. Tart cherry juice and dried fruit are legally sold in Australia as foods, outside medicines law. Not having its own entry isn't a ban. No approved health claim applies.
