Is Rosehip right for you?
Common questions
What's the difference between rosehip shells and rosehip extract?
Shells are the dried, granulated fruit, and you brew them like loose-leaf tea. An extract is concentrated from the fruit and pressed into a capsule or tablet, so each serve is a set amount. Extracts often combine rosehip with other ingredients, so read the label to see exactly what you're getting.
Is rosehip regulated as a medicine in Australia?
It can be, but it doesn't have to be. Rose hip is a permitted ingredient in listed medicines, at item 4368 of Australia's permitted ingredients list (Schedule 1), with no dose cap or warning statement. Sold as a tea or food, it isn't regulated as a medicine. There's no permitted health claim on record for it.
