Description
Honest to Goodness Organic Sprouted Brown Rice Protein Powder is a single-ingredient plant protein made from certified organic sprouted brown rice. The rice is soaked to sprout, treated with the natural enzyme amylase to break down the starch, then filtered, briefly heat-treated and dried into a fine powder, with no fermentation and nothing artificial added. It contains 86.5 g of protein per 100 g, has a mild, slightly sweet rice flavour, and suits shakes, smoothies, oats and baking. The pouch holds 750 g, around 25 serves of 30 g.

Rice Protein
What is rice protein?
Rice protein is a plant-based way to get the protein your muscles need to rebuild after training. It's a favourite when dairy and soy don't suit you, and it's usually blended with pea protein.

Is this the right protein powder for you?
Common questions
Why is rice protein almost always blended with pea protein?
Rice protein is low in one essential amino acid, lysine, while pea protein is low in a different one, methionine. Blend the two and each covers the other's gap, which is why you'll rarely find rice protein sold on its own. It's a recipe choice, not a performance claim.
Does the research back rice protein on its own?
Not really. In the evidence we've reviewed, there's no trial of rice protein by itself. It only shows up in wider comparisons of plant and animal proteins, grouped with others like oat and potato. If trial evidence for a specific protein matters to you, pea, soy and whey have all been compared directly in studies. And if you're already getting enough protein through the day, another shake won't add much.
