Is calcium D-glucarate a calcium supplement?
No. It's the calcium salt of D-glucaric acid, a compound your body makes in small amounts and that's also in fruit and vegetables such as apples, grapefruit and broccoli. The calcium is part of the salt, but it isn't the reason the ingredient is sold. If you want calcium in your diet, look at a calcium supplement instead.
Why doesn't this page say what calcium D-glucarate does?
Because we haven't found it on the list of ingredients Australian listed medicines can use, so there's no permitted health claim we could quote for it. We also haven't yet reviewed any clinical trials, dose or safety data for it. So this page tells you what it is rather than what it'll do.
