Description
Fibre Boost Acai Berry is a raw, cold pressed flavoured protein bar built on soluble prebiotic fibre from corn, whey protein isolate and milk protein isolate, with almonds and acai powder giving it a tart berry flavour. It is pressed rather than baked, and it is sweetened with steviol glycosides rather than sugar. Eat it straight from the wrapper as a snack between meals or after training.
Product Strengths
- Eats as a firm, chewy bar straight from the wrapper.
- Packs into a bag, a desk drawer or a gym kit for a snack between meals or after training.
- Acai powder carries a tart berry note through the bar.
- Soluble prebiotic fibre from corn is the first ingredient.
- Whey protein isolate and milk protein isolate supply the protein.
- Raw and cold pressed rather than baked.
- Sweetened with steviol glycosides.

Acai
What is acai?
Acai is a deep purple berry from the Amazon. Freeze-dried acai powder spoons straight into smoothies and bowls, and frozen pulp packs make the thick shop-style bowl. In bars, drinks and protein blends, it's there for the flavour and the colour.

Is Acai right for you?
Common questions
Powder, frozen pulp or juice. What's the difference?
It's the same fruit, prepared three ways for three jobs. Freeze-dried powder keeps in the pantry and spoons easily into a smoothie, which is why most acai in Australia is sold this way. Frozen pulp comes in sachets and blends up thick, which is how the shop-style bowl is made. Juice is ready to drink and usually mixed with other fruit juices, so check the ingredients list to see how much acai is actually in it.
Is acai regulated as a medicine in Australia?
It can be. Acai (Euterpe oleracea) is on Australia's permitted ingredients list (item 2173), so it can be used in a listed medicine as an active ingredient or as a flavour. That listing has two conditions: only the fruit can be used, and as a flavour it's capped at 5%. We couldn't find a permitted health claim for acai, though, and the acai most people buy (pulp, powder, juice and bowl mixes) is sold as a food under the Food Standards Code, not as a medicine.
