Description
Nature's Way Adult Vita Gummies Calcium + Vitamin D 99% Sugar Free is a chewable pastille for adults and teenagers from 13 years, carrying calcium as calcium phosphate together with colecalciferol. Each pastille holds 200 mg of calcium and 8.3 micrograms of colecalciferol, equivalent to 333 IU of vitamin D3, so a three pastille serve brings 600 mg of calcium and about 1000 IU of vitamin D3. Calcium is the mineral bones and teeth are built from and vitamin D is what the body uses to absorb it, which is why the two are taken together where dietary intake falls short.
Product Strengths
- Calcium contributes to bone strength and density and to healthy teeth.
- Vitamin D helps the body absorb calcium into bone.
- Vitamin D also has a part in normal muscle function and in immune system function.
- 200 mg of calcium and 333 IU of vitamin D3 in each chewable pastille, with no tablet to swallow.
- Sweetened with maltitol, sorbitol and sucralose.

What does calcium do for your bones?
Nearly all your calcium lives in your bones, which act as a bank your body draws on when you don't eat enough. Pair your calcium with vitamin D, which is what lets you absorb it.

Is Calcium right for you?
How the forms compare
Common questions
Should I take calcium on its own or with vitamin D?
With vitamin D, based on the evidence. Across 15 trials in 51,126 adults, the combination reduced fractures of any kind, and the evidence was high certainty. Vitamin D alone made no difference across 36 trials in 92,045 people. Calcium alone sat in between and didn't reach significance. Vitamin D is what lets you absorb calcium, so the pairing isn't a marketing decision.
What's the difference between calcium carbonate and calcium citrate?
How much calcium they contain and how you take them. Carbonate is 40% calcium by weight, so you get more per tablet, but it needs stomach acid and is best taken with food. Citrate is about 21%, so tablets are bigger or doses smaller, but it absorbs without stomach acid. If you take antacids or reflux medicine, citrate is usually the better choice.
Can I take too much calcium?
Yes, and this is one where more isn't better. The upper limit is 2,500 mg a day from all sources, food included. Randomised evidence found that 1,000 mg of calcium carbonate with vitamin D raised the risk of kidney stones. If you've had a stone before, talk to us or your doctor before you start.
