Description
Steel cut oats are whole oat groats that have been dehulled and cut into two or three pieces with steel blades rather than steamed and rolled flat. Because the grain keeps more of its structure, Lotus Steel Cut Oats cook up chewy and separate rather than creamy, with a nuttier flavour and more bite than traditional rolled porridge oats. It comes as the 750g resealable bag, which is milled from organic wholegrain oats and is a product of Australia.
Product Strengths
- Simmer them into a porridge that stays chewy and separate rather than turning creamy.
- Whole oat groats cut into two or three pieces, not rolled flat.
- Chewier texture and a nuttier flavour than rolled oats.
- Made from organic wholegrain oats, the only ingredient.
- Product of Australia.
- 750g resealable bag to help keep the grain fresh.

What are steel cut oats?
Steel cut oats are whole oat groats chopped into little nuggets instead of rolled flat. They cook into a hearty porridge with more bite, or you can choose the organic pack labelled wheat free.

Common questions
What's the difference between steel cut oats and rolled oats?
They both start as the whole oat groat. Steel cut oats are chopped into pieces, while rolled oats are flattened into flakes. It's the same grain in both bags, and the cut is the only difference.
